Here you’ll find an overview of the different areas of my work: I offer psychotherapy and counselling, I teach mindfulness, I supervise mindfulness teachers and I run personal development training courses and workshops.
Psychotherapy and Counselling
I offer psychotherapy and counselling and I’ve been in private practice for ten years. I qualified in 1999 with a Diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling - I'm a fully accredited member of the UK Association of Humanistic Psychology Practitioners (UKAHPP) and I'm registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). My background is in the voluntary sector and I’ve been involved with therapeutic work in this context for twenty-five years.
I teach mindfulness in a variety of different settings, running closed 8 week Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) courses for organisations such as Swansea Carers Centre and open Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) courses for the general public in Swansea, Neath, Carmarthen, Llandeilo and Bristol. In addition to teaching 8 week courses, I teach mindfulness in workshops, taster sessions and at conferences. I’ve been teaching for ten years and I have a Master’s in Teaching Mindfulness, following five years of training with the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice, Bangor University.
I also provide mindfulness teaching supervision and I’m a supervisor with the Mindfulness Network.
Training and Workshops
I run personal development training courses for paid and unpaid staff in voluntary sector organisations, on themes related to mindfulness, mental health and wellbeing, mentoring skills, counselling skills and skills for creating and sustaining effective support relationships, developing self-confidence, becoming more assertive and improving communication skills. I have been involved in training and development in the voluntary sector for over twenty-five years.
